We are one of the best watering holes in Karen. Fact. Frequented by locals and visitors alike, there’s always a buzz about the bar in the evenings, no matter what day of the week. All major sports events are shown on our two big projector screens. There’s a juke box with tunes from all eras for those that want to bust out some moves, and we regularly host raucous quiz nights or themed nights, usually in aid of charity. Plans are underway to start a microbrewery, but until then we stock a range of local and imported beers and ales, as well as an extensive array of wines and spirits.

Kids at Purdy Arms

Kids love the Purdy Arms, and are always welcome. There’s a jungle gym to swing, slide and scamper across, 22 acres to tear around, and various critters to cuddle. There’s a small soccer pitch for those budding Beckhams too.

The kids choice on the menu is sure to satisfy those little tummies, and babysitters can be arranged for guests. We are happy to help if there is anything else we can do to make your kids feel at home.

Other Facilities

We aim to please, and The Purdy Arms is a lot more than just a B&B, bar and restaurant.  The Potting Shed is our lovely garden centre located on the right hand side of the driveway as you enter the gates. There’s a fantastic selection of plants and trees, as well as pots and friendly advice from our team. For those inclined to a cleaner hobby, our Beauty Salon offers haircuts, massages, waxing, manicures and pedicures. There’s always art exhibited in our bar, ranging from stunning wildlife photographs to intriguing abstract paintings.

We also have a small conference room and a 5-a-side pitch available for hire.
